Get ready for high-flying action with the 2024 Hindi film, Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures. The movie stars Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, and Deepika Padukone in lead roles and marks the first installment in a planned aerial action franchise.
The film's story, written by Anand and Ramon Chibb, was announced in January 2021, but pre-production was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming began in November 2022, with real-life Indian Air Force personnel contributing to the movie, which wrapped up in October 2023.
Fighter pays tribute to recent events, including the 2019 Pulwama attack, Balakot airstrike, and India-Pakistan border skirmishes. The film's soundtrack, composed by Vishal-Shekhar, features five songs, with cinematography by Satchith Paulose and visual effects by DNEG.
Initially scheduled for release in September 2022, the film's production delays pushed its release to January 25, 2024, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend. Despite mixed reviews, Fighter has grossed ₹199.45 crore in India and ₹337.2 crore worldwide, becoming the third highest-grossing Indian film and highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024.
